Hi, I'm James and I love building things.

I have over 15 years experience in digital advertising; planning, designing and developing creative experiences for any industry vertical one could imagine.  ​I enjoy design as much as I enjoy programming, problem solving, typography, animation, video editing, and creating engaging content to tell a brand's story through all platforms.

EY (Ernst & Young LLC)

Interactive Media Technologist

While at EY I worked on a wide variety of projects for my internal clients, including: Modern SharePoint site planning, development and construction; Print production; Setting up customer survey pages and organizing all incoming data into manageable and useful formats; Creation of fully interactive PDF documents; and unusal requests such as deconstructing immersive experiences built in obsolete software such as Adobe Edge, taking code, graphics, animations, etc. then recreating everything with modern tools like Tumult Hype and breathing new life into my clients' projects.

THE COCA-COLA COMPANY

Developer
Primary responsibilities while working on the Adobe Experience Platform integration include writing tests for the team's NodeJS codebase, assisting team leads by taking on smaller projects that would otherwise reduce their availability for more point-intensive tasks, and stepping in to help manage any backlogged work whenever possible.

Senior Creative Developer
Responsible for producing interactive, animated ads for brands including Toyota, American Standard, and Dunkin' Donuts.  
Additionally, I was in charge of helping my team transition from building ads in Adobe Flash to HTML5, and streamlining creative production for deployment on multiple ad-serving platforms like Google, Flashtalking, Sizmek, and Celtra.

2005-2013

Senior Designer

Handled high-volume ad production, video editing, traditional graphic and print design, typography, and worked directly with clients such as Meredith Publishing to come up with effective, interactive rich media ads for a wide range of products.

2016-2019

SPECLESS

Creative Director

Handled all aspects of digital ad production for publisher sites while adhering to strict brand guidelines for each site's individual clients.

Managed large numbers of creative assets across hundreds of campaigns. Client brands included T-Mobile, Blizzard Games, Kitchen Aid, The Home Depot, and Samsung.

Other duties included producing technical documentation, creating company branding materials, and overseeing production of ad templates for use by our self-service clients.

Senior Production Designer
On top of ad production for clients such as AT&T, My job role was diversified to also include mobile app concepting and prototyping, as will as full website development for Carnival Cruise Lines.
